We had a super fun new year, we decided to buy one of the "monigotes" that was listed at $25 dollars but we spent 30 minutes negotiating to the price and we bought it at $12. It was SID from Ice Age, but it was cool cause they had toys from every single show or movie. I'll throw in some pics below. On New Year's Eve, we were stuck in the house the whole day, so we made cinnamon rolls and cooked them at our church. That night we took Sid up to our rooftop and chopped off his arms and head with some rebar then burned him. While Sid was burning, we cracked open our Welch's cider and had one for the boys. It was cool too, cause at 12:00 everybody in the whole city lights their monigote on fire killing and burning the old year away. There were so many fireworks going on too. The city went nuts.
The rest of the week was normal, we didn't end up having our baptism, we changed it to this Saturday. We visited some good people and ate some more rice and beans. And Jefrett blessed the sacrament on Sunday, he said the prayer for the bread and messed up cause he was so scared, but he got it his second time.
Last night we got the changes call, and ima be taking off to the Jungle. It's a place called Puyo, about 5 hours into the jungle. The bishop we have now is from Puyo and he was telling me everything about it. That I'm going to die of heat, it's so humid, there are so many bugs, snakes, tarantulas, monkeys, birds. They eat raw worms all the time too, that'll be pretty fun. But also they speak different dialects and the missionaries need to learn some of the dialects to teach to them. I am super sad to be leaving Ambato, the members when I told them cried and cried and that even made me cry. Elder Hunter will be staying here again, so tonight we'll just be saying more goodbyes and crying even more. I'm super sad to be leaving this area, I have never enjoyed a sector more, loved my comps, or loved a ward as much as this one. The whole ward is devastated, but it's all a part of God's plan and I know there are people in Puyo waiting for me, and ima get them.
